Eight Legged Freaks fell within the beautiful time span where horror comedies like it and Slither reigned supreme.
Part Arachnophobia, part parody of giant creature features, it helps to bridge the gap between horror lovers and those who are horror movie averse.
David Arquette once again proves why he belongs within the horror genre and once again plays the doting male lead.
Young ScarJo and Matt Czuchry remind us that this movie is somehow 21 years old (YIKES).
It’s also the perfect encapsulation of small town life, down to Gladys buying 18 packs of cigarettes from the grocery store.
In honor of Eight Legged Freaks, I want to give you, in no particular order, eight more horror comedy creature features:
- Slither
- Arachnophobia
- Lake Placid
- Zombeavers
- Tremors
- Snakes on a Plane
- Big Ass Spider!
- Slotherhouse
