31 Day Horror Challenge: Day 8 – The Call (2020, Directed by Timothy Woodward Jr.)

You probably don’t need me to tell you that Lin Shaye is horror royalty. She’s a scene-stealer in every single movie she’s in, and The Call is no exception.

I watched this movie for the first time on Shudder soon after it was released, if memory serves, and I’ve been enamored by her performance ever since (also, shoutout to the genius who decided Elaine Rainier and John Kramer should be married).

That’s why I wanted to do a quick little listicle and highlight five of my favorite Lin Shaye horror performances because as soon as you see her name pop up, you know it’s gonna be GOOD.

  • Elaine Rainier – Insidious franchise
  • Teresa – Jack Goes Home
  • Teacher – A Nightmare on Elm Street
  • Edith Cranston – The Call
  • Laura Harrington – Dead End
