Oh, Terror Train.
Part of the Jamie Lee Curtis 1978-1980 horror trifecta, Terror Train is a weird little gem.
It plays into multiple subgenres: transportation horror, revenge horror, college slasher, you name it.
You might also know it from such hits tropes as:
“Oh no, it’s you!”
Taking places on the anniversary of an unfortunate death.
Getting a bunch of co-eds together in a contained environment.
You get the picture.
It’s not a movie I tend to rewatch frequently, but it’s a fun romp nonetheless.
For those unfamiliar, Jamie Lee Curtis stars as Alana, a college senior, who is one of six students responsible for the untimely passing of a pledge three years ago.
In true Greek fashion, the houses responsible plan a New Year’s Eve bash on a train on the anniversary.
If you can’t see where this is going, someone begins picking off those responsible for the hazing gone wrong.
Oh yeah, and they’re all in costumes to make things as convenient as possible for the killer.
You’ll laugh, you’ll gasp, you’ll wonder how anyone made it through the 1980s.
