This date night found me riding solo. The cool thing is it made me realize my life dream. It made me readjust my priorities. It helped me to better understand myself more than I thought it would. I realized I wasn’t focusing on the things that were truly important. This all sounds trivial, but it’s true. Sitting down and simply thinking about my future for 15 minutes helped to put a lot of things in perspective. That’s how my soon to be named production company came about. I wrote down everything as it came to me. I didn’t try to force anything out. It turns out my subconscious knew better because I just started writing down hopes and dreams like they were going out of style. Yes, I totally know how cheesy all of this sounds, but I’m being 100% honest. When is the last time you sat down and just thought about your future? I’m not talking about the spoon-fed cliches you picked up like “I’m trying to figure out my next step” or the lines you throw out at reunions or to high school friends at the grocery store. I couldn’t remember either. It’s hard to not compare yourself and your current situation with the success of others, and this list made me realize the biggest hurdle standing between me and my success: myself. I’d been slacking on my aspirations, and it’s the reason I’ve been at a stand still. Well, no more. I finally kind of know what I want to be when I grow up, so let’s get the ball rolling, shall we?

In case you can’t read my handwriting, here’s the official Bucket List of Baillee MaCloud Perkins (being mostly of sound mind and spirit):
Short Term:
- start two new podcasts
- get production company off the ground
- get more comfortable with sound editing
- land another freelance writing gig
- road trip to Portland
Long Term:
- have a successful production company
- travel to two different countries and five states (at least)
- somehow get involved with SXSW
- make (or write) a horror movie
- buy a house (or maybe rent but still get a house)
