My first crush was on George Strait tacky I know but seriously.

My first kiss was Derrick Williams…young and dumb, young and dumb.

What are your views on Tinder and other dating apps?

I think Tinder and other dating apps are useful tools for people in this day and age, but are often used for hookups and things of that nature.

What was the best date you ever had?

The best date I ever had was hiking Petit Jean with my now husband. Beautiful day, beautiful scenery, and pleasant company to share it with.

What was the worst date you ever had?

The worst date I ever had was with a guy named Marshall. He asked if I wanted to go bowling, and I said sure why not. What he didn’t tell me was that we were going bowling with four of his guy friends who were serious bowlers and I’d get made fun of ALL NIGHT LONG.

What goes through your head when you first realize you have feelings for someone?

When I first realize I have feelings for someone I take a step back and evaluate my situation. I’m pretty straight forward so I would usually just ask if they had feelings for me.

What is the first trait that attracts you to someone?

The first trait I look for in a guy is their smile/laugh. You can tell a lot about a person by what they consider funny.

How would you describe heart break?

Heartbreak is one of those emotions you don’t want to experience many times. You not only miss the person you’re heartbroken over, but you feel anger, dissapointment, and even resentment. With time those feelings fade away and you pick your life back up and get going again.

Have you ever been in love?

I’ve been in love only once in my life and that’s with my husband. I never experienced anything close to the love I feel when I’m with him with anyone else. He’s my person. Loving children, family, pets, etc is different than being in love with your soulmate.

Do you think it’s possible to love two people at the same time?

I suppose it’s possible to love two people at once, but not for me. I also believe that more often than not you aren’t truly in love with two people. Your gut leads you one direction and your brain leads you in another. Go with your gut. It’s usually right.

What does love mean to you?

Love to me doesn’t mean looking at a person and my heart skipping a beat, getting butterflies in your stomach, or anything like that. That’s infatuation or a medical condition and you might want to get that checked. Love to me is coming home from a terrible day at work, your person is home and the terrible day loses its gripe and worry. You suddenly feel a calm wash over you because you know that that person is going to be right there with you at every step and it’s all going to be ok even if it really isn’t.

What advice do you have for someone who has never been in love?

For the person who’s never been in love, don’t rush it. Love really isn’t something you want to force. Be with someone that makes you a better you, shares some of your interests, and takes time to appreciate what you bring to the table. Don’t mix up love and infatuation. All this goes for you too. If someone really loves you and you have the same feelings don’t be afraid to love them back.
