New Year, Same Blog

I’ve never been a fan of New Year’s resolutions. I feel like we create unrealistic expectations that we wind up either forgetting about by the end of January or beat ourselves up trying to maintain. It’s exhausting. My solution isn’t to be more athletic or to be more financially savvy but simply to be.

We get so wrapped up in frivolous ideals that we forget the importance of living. By vowing to change the parts of ourselves we don’t like, we often neglect the parts we love. That’s why I propose to stop fixating on the negative and start focusing on the positive.

Be kind.

Be creative.

Be bold.

Be the person who pays for someone else’s coffee.

Be the person who knows when to log off social media and doodle in a notebook.

Be the person who take a day to explore the city alone.

Just take time to be. That way, you’re guaranteed to keep one resolution, no juice cleanse required.
